Pablo Aragona

Pablo Aragona “Ruler of Rhythm” is a drummer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer from Winter Park, Florida. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and at the age of nine, started playing piano, guitar, and drums.

He has been performing, touring and recording for more than twenty years with many renowned artists from Argentina and Latin America such as Goyo, East Coast, Melania Lenoir, Kat Dahlia, Manny Swagg, among others. He has played for several musicals, including Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar, Spring Awakenings, and Rufianes.

After receiving his degree as a professional musician from the Center of High Music Studies in Buenos Aires in 2008, Pablo went to New York City to continue his studies at the Drummers Collective, after which he participated in the Jazz Plaza Festival in Havana, Cuba, where he found new musical perspectives and  inspiration in Caribbean rhythms.

In 2014 Pablo created El Resongon, a nine-piece band dedicated to playing and recording his own compositions. Eventually he reduced the formation to a quintet in search of a new sound and recorded an album called BACO under the music supervision of Daniel Piazzolla.

He has played with Gary Lovini, The American Drifters, Jimmy Hopper, and Our Lady Valentine and started working as a drummer in the orchestra onboard Royal Caribbean cruise ships in 2018.

In 2020, he permanently moved from Argentina to the United States, where he has continued his musical career as music conductor of the 12 man percussionist group Rhythm Portal in Miami.  Newer projects include  original pop project “Aragona”, where he is both musician and composer / producer, and band leader for jazz group “The Pablo Aragona Quintet.” He lives in Winter Park, Florida, with his wife Hayley and dog Niblet.
